Sweetwater Festival

There’s always so much to do at a Maple Syrup event.  This barn owl named Alistair is part of the birds of prey exhibit at this weekend’s Sweetwater Harvest Festival.

You can drink cedar tea, taste delicious maple candy made in the snow and watch pioneers at work. Or just walk the beautiful trails through the woods and marsh.

There’s also bannock making, which turned out to be our favourite.  See a separate post on how we toasted bannock over an open fire at the festival, held at the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.
